The Chinese polyester staple fibre (PSF) market displayed a soft appearance and prices went down due to subdued demand from the downstream market in the week ending September 5.

In the Chinese domestic market, selling offers for PSF 1.4 Denier declined by RMB 150/ton in the week under review compared to closing prices of week ending August 30 and were in the range of RMB 9,550/ton to RMB 9,650/ton.

In the USD based export Chinese market, due to moderate demand from the downstream buyers, prices for 1.4 Den PSF also fell by 2.2% during week ending Sept 5 compared to its previous week and were quoted around US$ 1.29-1.34/Kg FOB N.E. Asia basis.
