It took over six months arduous and long drawn lawsuit for Chinese enterprises to finally win the anti-dumping investigation in case of polyester short fibre. This was the biggest case in the history of Sino-American textile trade.

A total of 19 Chinese enterprises were involved and together, these manufacturers accounted for 84 percent of polyester short fibre exports to the US.

Now, there is some respite for some Chinese enterprises that won zero tariff rate and the others who have got tariff rates between 3.47 to 44.3 percent. It means Chinese polyester short fibre now successfully dominates majority of US market.

However, at present, the US has stopped custom clearance of some Chinese polyester short fibre and the International Trade Committee will declare the final result around May 18, sources said.
