Polyester staple production plunges 4.6% in October

Polyester staple output in Japan saw a fall of 4.6 percent, reaching 16,614 tons in October; this is the tenth month in a row that polyester staple production has declined.
Overcapacity of manufacturers outside China, and its impact on Asian polyester staple prices, has kept profit margins low to non-existent leding to operating capacity shrinking drastically.
From January to October, the cumulative polyester staple fibre production dropped 4.5 percent to 177,522 tons.
