The United States International Trade Commission issued a notice on June 6, saying that the US would conduct a quick sunset review of anti-dumping investigation on polyester staple fiber originating in China Taiwan and South Korea.

This will be done in order to determine whether the products involved continue to cause material injury to US domestic industry, or recur in reasonable and foreseeable time after the abolition of anti-dumping measures.

The US Department of Commerce launched an anti-dumping investigation on polyester staple fiber originating in Taiwan and South Korea on April 29, 1999.

It made a final ruling in the case on March 30, 2000 and ruled that the dumping margin of South Korean enterprises involved would be 0.14-11.38 percent and dumping margin on Taiwanese enterprises would be up to 9.51 percent.
