Producer of fire resistant (FR) chemicals Alexium International has promoted Dr. Dirk Van Hyning as chief executive officer, effective from June 30, 2017. Dr. Hyning replaces Nicholas Clark, who assumes the new role of executive director strategy, and remains on the board. Nick Clark will also work closely with Hyning during this transition period.
Dr. Hyning joined Alexium in 2013 as senior research scientist and was later promoted as head of product development and then as president in October 2014. Before joining Alexium, Dr. Hyning worked with Milliken Research Corporation and earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. (AR)
