Ukraine’s Textile-Contact Group has started manufacturing protective gowns, shoe protectors, forearm sleeves and masks at its TC-Style garment factory in Chernihiv. Two more garment factories in Lubny in Poltava region and Korosten in Zhytomyr region will soon join the effort, group founder Oleksandr Sokolovsky recently said.

“The main thing is to solve all the problems that arise in the current situation due to emergency measures announced,” Sokolovsky wrote on Facebook.

Due to possible problems with the delivery of gauze from Uzbekistan, the company also launched sewing of reusable protective masks from chintz (100 per cent cotton) produced by the group at a textile factory in Chernihiv.

Sokolovsky said that reusable masks from chintz are recommended to be worn for no more than two and a half or three hours, but then it can be washed and ironed.

“So far, we cannot organize retail sales and online delivery. Therefore, the minimum shipment of protective suits is 50 pieces, masks is 1,000 pieces,” he added.
