However, other varieties of cotton yarn remained steady. The demand from the domestic garment industry was poor, but yarn export demand was better. “There is low demand for the cotton yarn. The downstream garment industry is facing slower demand from end-users, and a few counts and varieties of yarn saw a decline in their prices,” a trader from Mumbai told Fibre2Fashion.
