Cotton yarn demand up in North India; but prices ease in Ludhiana

However, cotton yarn prices declined by ₹* per kg in Ludhiana due to price parity. Traders said that mills were trying to lure buyers by reducing the prices after cotton prices decreased. There was a higher export demand for cotton yarn.

Cotton yarn prices in Ludhiana dropped as mills offered better deals to prospective buyers. Demand was high as new export orders were received from many countries including China and Bangladesh. “Mills reduced yarn prices as cotton prices decreased. Demand was average but it is improving as compared to the previous weeks,” Gulshan Jain, a trader from Ludhiana, told Fashion*Fashion

In Ludhiana, ** count combed cotton yarn was sold at &#****;***-*** per kg (GST inclusive). ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***-*** per kg and &#****;***-*** per kg respectively. Carded yarn of ** count was steady at &#****;***-*** per kg, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
