  • India's manmade yarn market closed 2025 with modest price gains amid average-to-better demand. Higher cotton, polyester and PTA prices, along with a weakening rupee against the USD, lifted PC, polyester and viscose yarn rates across key markets. Demand support remained uneven, with payment constraints and thin year-end trade limiting momentum despite expectations of improved lifting in January.

The Ludhiana market recorded a price rise of &#****;* per kg in PC yarn as costlier cotton pushed up production costs. Spinning mills turned bullish ahead of the summer season. A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre*Fashion, “PC yarn demand is expected to rise next week as summer garment production will begin in the coming weeks. Polyester yarn prices also rose as domestic producers hiked polyester fibre selling rates. The increase was driven by higher PTA prices.” PTA prices reportedly surged in the Chinese market, after which Indian producers followed suit.

In Ludhiana, ** count PC combed yarn (**/**) traded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (GST inclusive); ** count PC carded yarn (**/**) at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (GST inclusive); ** recycled polyester yarn at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (GST extra); ** count virgin polyester spun at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (GST inclusive); recycled polyester fibre (PET bottle fibre) at &#****;**-** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and virgin polyester fibre at &#****;**.** (~$*.**) per kg.
