Middle East conflict weighs on north India's yarn market, prices drop

Cotton yarn prices declined by &#****;* per kg in Delhi due to subdued demand. Local prices remained under pressure as buyers grew increasingly concerned about future export orders. The market reacted negatively to the latest geopolitical developments. A trader from Delhi told Fibre2Fashion, “Spinning mills and stockists are struggling to find buyers and are being forced to reduce prices. After the summer season, India’s cotton-based textile value chain becomes more export-dependent, as domestic consumers shift to cheaper polyester garments. But the ongoing US–Iran–Israel conflict has cast a shadow on export demand from Western markets.”
