  • South India's cotton yarn market stayed weak, with coarse-count prices slipping in Tiruppur, while Mumbai remained stable but subdued due to a payment crunch and slow demand. Fine counts held steady on early summer enquiries. Gujarat's cotton eased on cautious mill buying amid ample B-grade supply. Arrivals improved, but mills remained price sensitive.

In Mumbai, most counts and varieties of cotton yarn remained stable. The market is facing payment crisis and sluggish demand. A trader from Mumbai market told Fibre*Fashion, “Summer demand is still invisible. But demand for fine count cotton yarn is slightly higher as it is mainly consumed in the summer season. Hopefully, summer demand will ease payment flow in the market.”
