A trader from the Mumbai market told Fibre*Fashion, “Mills are looking to hike cotton yarn prices by ****;*–* per kg as production costs have risen due to costlier cotton. However, traders and stockists managed to secure an increase of only about ****;* per kg for finer counts. If fabric demand improves next year, cotton yarn prices may rise further.”
In Mumbai, ** carded yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at ****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) and ****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (~$**.**-**.**) (excluding GST), respectively. Other prices include ** combed warp at ****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, ** carded weft at ****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) per *.* kg, **/** carded warp at ****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, **/** carded warp at ****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and **/** combed warp at ****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, according to trade sources.
