Viscose yarn prices dip in India; polyester & PC yarn steady

According to trade sources from Mumbai and Surat, fabric manufacturers are buying viscose yarn regularly, but it is not enough to reduce stock levels. Stockists and manufacturers have large inventories, and spinning mills are forced to build up stock as they cannot halt production despite poor demand.

In Mumbai, imported ** count viscose vertex yarn was priced at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg and local ** count ring-spun viscose yarn at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg.  In Surat, ** viscose compact yarn (local) was sold at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg (GST extra) and ** viscose vertex yarn at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg.
