Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Material Sciences Company, will be participating at ITB Group’s Under-the-Hood Innovation: Polymers and Thermal Management Conference, to be held from May 6 to 7, 2015, at Novi, Michigan.

Bill Burnham, the business development manager from DSM, will present “Delivering Fuel Economy Savings in Powertrain Applications”. In this presentation, he will highlight how Stanyl PA46, when used on chain contact elements in a typical cam drive system, can reduce rotational friction torque. This has proven to be a very cost effective way of reducing fuel consumption across the drive cycle of the vehicle, Royal DSM said in a media release.

Russell Bloomfield, senior application development engineer, Royal DSM, will present “High Performance Materials for Air Induction Components.” DSM has developed new, super-stabilized Diablo PA66 and PA46 grades for air induction applications that offer superior heat deflection temperature (HDT) as compared to other material solutions available today. The presentation will highlight the performance attributes of these material grades and how they are ideal for metal replacement on hot charge air ducts.

The technical automotive conference is dedicated to plastic engine parts and advance thermal management. It brings together key experts as they convene to network, discuss, and showcase their industry leading developments and innovations in processes, simulation, materials, extrusion, blow moulding, components, technologies, and thermal management control.
