Eastman Aerafin polymer provides additional benefits in formulation, so that brand owners don’t have to make sacrifices in nozzle compatibility, production speeds, low temperature sprayability, or achieving quality spray patterns within a broad processing temperature range. Aerafin is also available to North American customers in molten form as well as pelletized, according to a company press release.
JP Kuijpers, adhesives business director, Eastman Chemical Company said, “The launch of Aerafin comes as a result of a dedicated innovation effort. Our formulator customers and product brand owners expressed the desire for improved performance of the olefin polymers in hot melt adhesives and our technology team delivered. Aerafin demonstrates the excellent peel strength brand owners need and can have lower tackifier loading requirements, enabling formulation flexibility.”
With abundant ethylene and propylene feedstock available, and a fully integrated manufacturing position, Eastman’s polyolefins business is well positioned to deliver additional innovative products that improve the capabilities of olefin-based adhesives worldwide. (GK)
