Non-store retail sales surge by 9.4% YoY in US trade sales

US’ retail trade sales were up 0.2 per cent (±0.5 per cent) from May 2023, and up 0.5 per cent (±0.5 per cent) above last year. Non-store retail sales were up 9.4 per cent (±1.6 per cent) from last year.

Advance estimates of categories including US retail sales for June 2023, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $689.5 billion, up 0.2 per cent (±0.5 per cent) from the previous month, and up 1.5 per cent (±0.7 per cent) above June 2022, US Census Bureau said in a press release.

Total sales for the April 2023 through June 2023 period were up 1.6 per cent (±0.4 per cent) from the same period a year ago. The April 2023 to May 2023 per cent change was revised from up 0.3 per cent (±0.5 per cent) to up 0.5 per cent (±0.2 per cent).
