Alibaba.com wants to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Coimbatore quickly expand their business globally by leveraging the power of technology and e-commerce. Expressing this at a recent workshop for textile product re-sellers in the city, Jack Zhang, the firm’s head of global supplier department, said his company was committed to supporting SMEs.

The workshop, themed ‘Infinity-Grow your business’, focussed on making exporters and traders aware of relevant government policies for the SME sector through sessions with industry leaders, according to a news agency report. It was attended by around 200 participants.

Stressing on the crucial role SMEs play in an economy, Zhang said small businesses were key source of trade and innovation globally. (DS)
