Flipkart's 2017 hiring plans are calibrated to the growth momentum the company is seeing and it is expected to be somewhere around 20 per cent to 30 per cent higher than last year, spread out as per requirements across verticals, Nitin Seth, COO of Flipkart told a news agency.
The e-commerce company hopes to get the right mix of talent with its hiring plans that are needed to power its next phase of growth, said Seth.
Flipkart hired close to 1,500 people in 2016 and over 10,000 temporary staff, a majority of them in logistics, during the festive season to meet the high demand, according to sources.
The Indian e-commerce industry grew at 12 per cent in 2016 and earned $14.5 billion in revenues as compared to a 180 per cent growth in 2015, according to a RedSeer report. (KD)
