Furla, Italy’s well known leather items manufacturing firm, is planning to enter the Indian market.

The firm, known particularly for its creativity and innovative styles, has announced plans to set up its first boutique at the Palladium Mall in Mumbai, this autumn.

The company had recently opened its mono-brand outlets in Paris, Hong Kong, London, Beijing and Munich.

Looking to lure fashion-conscious travellers, the company has introduced a new ‘Papermoon’ collection of leather bags.

Other Furla offerings include the Candy range of handbags and purses which come with fun rubber finishes. The range incorporates vibrant shades like primary hues, neon hues and metallics.

Furla, established by the Furlanetto family in 1927 in Bologna, Italy, now also operates five subsidiaries in the US, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and France.

Having a distribution network in 63 countries, Furla marks its presence in over 1,000 sales outlets and 319 single brand boutiques. While 145 of the brand boutiques are company-owned, the rest 174 are franchised.
