Apparel chain Mr Price & Miladys records 20.7% rise in Q3

Third quarter ending December 24, 2005 reported sales growth by 20.7 percent compared to previous year, said Mr. Price.

Apparel chains, Mr Price and Miladys, reported sales growth by 15.7 percent for the quarter.

Home chains, Mr Price Home and Sheet Street recorded sales growth by 33.6 percent.

Store sales grew 13.7 percent for the third quarter, 12.9 percent in the apparel chains and 15.6 percent in the home chains compared to previous year.

Trading has reportedly benefited all operating chains and may see the rise into the final quarter, said Price.

First three weeks of January have been positive enough to deliver improved profitability on last year's earnings of 103.7 cents.

Shares in retailer Mr Price Group fell 2.3 percent on Tuesday, even as a positive trading took place.
