In an attempt to expand its non-food businesses, Morrisons, the fourth largest supermarket chain in the UK, is soon going to launch its maiden garment line called Nutmeg.

The famous grocery retailer’s new apparel range will initially focus only on children's clothing and adult essentials.

The firm plans to employ over 50 clothing specialists, mainly comprised of buyers, merchandisers and designers, into its recently opened office in Leicester, UK.

The Nutmeg range will be sold in more than 100 Morrisons stores from March 2013 onwards.

Founded in 1899, Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc currently owns around 475 stores across the UK.
