Volume of retail apparel sales up in China

The volume of retail clothing sales by key large-scale apparel enterprises in China grew by 10.6 percent in October 2012, according to the data released by the China National Commercial Information Center.
 
Since the beginning of the current year, it is the first time that the volume of retail garment sales exceeded 10 percent year-on-year.
 
Among the items that witnessed a growth in sales by volume during the month were T-shirts, trousers and sportswear – all of them witnessed relatively fast growth of more than 10 percent year-on-year.
 
In terms of value, clothing sales by large-scale Chinese retail enterprises increased by 12.74 percent year-on-year.
