With an increase in demand for menswear collections in India, the e-retailers in the country are expecting a boost in menswear sales. According to the leading online retailers, menswear is the fastest growing segment in e-commerce industry due to its features such as easy access and convenience.

Mr. Amit Maheshwari, vice-president of Fashion Merchandising at Snapdeal.com, told fibre2fashion, “The market for readymade garments is always being dominated by menswear and it is growing rapidly in online shops.”

“Around 70 percent of the clothing market in India is contributed by menswear collections,” he informs.

Echoing him, Mr. Amit Rawal, founder and CEO of Elitify.com, says, “The menswear market is tremendously growing in e-commerce industry with an increase in demand from online shoppers.”

“The main reason is men of today are more conscious about their image and they are willing to spend a lot of money on garments and lifestyle products,” he adds.

Mr. Tej Kapoor, vice-president of Tradus.com, says, “Menswear segment is growing fast in the online market mainly due to the time and convenience in shopping online.”

“We expect 20-30 percent quarter-on-quarter growth in the menswear retail segment,” he informs.
