An e-commerce supply chain platform titled ‘CCIG Mall’ has been created by the Chinese company, Century international Group, parent company of Century Fortunet Limited and the Italian media group Class Editori.

The online supply chain platform will serve as an important link between Italian-made products and Chinese consumers.

The huge demand for Italian products by Chinese consumers has made some simple, cross-border purchasing methods very popular, yet problems related to quality, custom duties, logistics, and after sales service have emerged.

The platform will be operative from the 27th of October and is expected to serve more than 3 million retail stores, including traditional shopping centers as well as hotels, restaurants, and sports clubs across China.

The project was made official in June, when Guo Hong, chairperson of Century International Group, signed a collaboration agreement in Beijing with Panerai, chief executive officer (CEO) of Class Editori, in the presence of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

China’s Unionpay and Bank of China also agreed to provide financial cooperation to CCIG Mall project. (GK)
