Following the consumer trends that about 35 percent of shoppers will start their gift-buying by Halloween, this year the Christmas shopping season will start a little earlier than that of last year, especially on the Internet, according a study.
It is also expected that the percentage of online retailers who offer shipping promotion including free or discounted shipping will go up to 83 percent as against the 64 percent two years ago.
At least a third of multichannel retailers, who use the Internet and stores or catalogs, will start their marketing campaigns earlier than they did last year.
What is more, almost two-thirds of them will have their promotions up and running by November 4.
