Austin Reed is synonymous with superb British style and has long been recognized as the quality name in tailoring, offering a total wardrobe solution for men and women. The company has recently completed the purchase of women's wear retailer Viyella, which went in to administration in January 2009.
According to company sources, Austin Reed intends to keep open 50 from Viyella's chain of 110 stores and in the process save 250 jobs. But due to reasons unknown, the remaining 60 stores will be closed, leading to a loss of 200 jobs.
