Woodland, India based producer of apparels and footwear is contemplating converting its stores across India in to eco-friendly outlets with the help of a German design firm at a cost of Rs one billion.
As part of a green initiative it is also using eco-friendly dyes and chemicals and will also install effluent treatment plants at all its plants for recycling waste water.
Speaking exclusively to Fibre2fashion, Mr Harkirat Singh, Managing Director of Woodland said “We are striving to use all recyclable material that doesn't damage the environment, which is the basic message we want to convey".
He added by saying that, “Refurbishing the stores will involve using re-usable furniture and other recyclable matters, besides installing wind and solar energy".
