Reliance Retail’s 7,500 stores received over 350 million footfalls in fiscal 2017-18 and its revenues crossed ₹69,000 crore, a growth of over 100 per cent year on year, Reliance Industries Ltd chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani told the 41st annual general meeting of the company in Mumbai today. Over 4,000 new stores were opened during the year.

Reliance Digital is the largest consumer electronics retailer and Reliance Trends continues to be the largest fashion retailer in India, selling nearly 1.2 crore garments a month, he said.

In petrochemicals, the group launched R-Elan, a super micro-denier polyester with unique anti-sweat and anti-bacterial properties for use in active wear and its RecoSilk and SuperFeel products have emerged as products of choice in ladies fashion wear, Ambani said.

The world's largest paraxylene (PX) complex was established in Jamnagar in Gujarat and Reliance Petrochemicals today is the second largest PX producer in the world, with the Jamnagar unit having the distinction of being the largest PX manufacturing facility in the world with an annual production capacity of 4.2 million tonnes, he added. PX is used in manufacturing polyster. (DS)
