Shoppers Stop to up its online sales with digital play

Shoppers Stop, one of India's leading fashion retailers, plans to kick off its digital play strategy in phases in order to keep up with online shopping trend, as per media reports.

At present the share of online sales is low but the retailer expects to increase it from digital touch points in the next three to five years through omni-channel strategy.

The retailer plans to invest Rs 60 crore over the next three years in its omni-channel technology, supply chain and talent. The company is to extend its omni-channel platform to its group companies, and by 2020, is expected to achieve 15 per cent revenue through digital-touch points, Manohar Kamath, the company's chief operating officer said while inaugurating a new store in Kolkata.

The retailer also plans to provide the facility of delivering products within two to five hours of purchase to its customers with it omni-channel strategy. Shoppers Stop is also expected to come up with a mobile application soon.

The company plans to open more than five stores every year. Currently Shoppers Stop sells merchandises through 74 stores in 34 Indian cities. (HO)
