Topshop, the British-based luxury brand owned by leading fashion retailer Arcadia Group, is looking forward to expand its presence in China with the co-operation of the local brands. Following the possession of Topshop's franchise in China by luxury e-tailer Shangpin, now, it is planning to open its first flagship store in Shanghai by September this year.

Topshop brick and mortar stores will be set up in the tier-I & II cities of China, said Shangpin. It is expected that over 100 Topshop and Topman retail stores will open in next five years, along with a strong online presence.

"We acquired the franchising business of Topshop to explore the Chinese market," said Zhao Shizhong, CEO of Shangpin. The firm has already worked with Topshop during the last three years as an online retailer of the British brand. (RR)
