Annual inflation in the EU was 2.3 per cent in October, up from 2.1 per cent in September. A year earlier, it was 3.6 per cent, according to Eurostat, the EU statistical office.
The lowest annual rates were registered in Slovenia (0 per cent), Lithuania and Ireland (both 0.1 per cent). The highest annual rates were recorded in Romania (5 per cent), Belgium and Estonia (both 4.5 per cent).
Compared with September this year, annual inflation fell in two member states, remained stable in six and rose in 19, an Eurostat release said.
