Retail tycoon Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia fashion group recently did a U-turn by agreeing to pay full salaries for head office staff facing redundancy instead of furlough pay. It followed reports that the Group was only going to pay some of its staff as little as half of their notice pay. The group issued an apology to all staff distressed by their earlier decision.

“We are extremely sorry to all those individuals impacted for the distress that we have caused and apologise unreservedly,” the company said in a statement.

The group’s high street brands include Topman, Topshop and Dorothy Perkins.
