ICA Gruppen Q3 FY20 sales grow 5.3% to SEK 31,400 mn

ICA Gruppen, a Sweden-based leading retailer, has reported 5.3 per cent sales growth to SEK 31,400 million in its third quarter (Q3) for fiscal year 2020 that ended on September 30, 2020 compared to the sales of SEK 29,818 million in same period previous year. Company’s profit for the period rose to SEK 1,302 million (Q3 FY19: SEK 1,202 million).

“During the third quarter we saw essentially the same pattern as in the preceding quarter – strong volume growth for ICA Sweden, while sales were weaker for Rimi Baltic and Apotek Hjärtat. In terms of earnings, however, Rimi Baltic had a strong quarter,” Per Stromberg, CEO at ICA Gruppen, said in a press release.

Operating profit for the quarter grew to SEK 1,686 million (SEK 1,595 million).

Sales of ICA Sweden segment for Q3 FY20 increased 7.2 per cent to SEK 23,035 million (SEK 21,494 million). Online sales for the segment grew 124 per cent to SEK 1,126 million (SEK 502 million).

Rimi Baltic’s sales dropped 2.4 per cent to SEK 3,946 million (SEK 4,044 million). While, Apotek Hjärtat segment sales were up 2.7 per cent to SEK 3,648 million (SEK 3.553 million).
