Indian apparel company Cantabil Retail kicks of FY22 with decent sales

Cantabil Retail India Limited, an apparel manufacturer and retailer, reported 124.5 per cent revenue growth to ₹28.7 crore in first quarter (Q1) of FY22 ended on June 30, 2021, compared to the revenue of ₹12.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. EBITDA improved to ₹6.0 crore (₹0.5 crore), while loss after tax reduced to ₹1.5 crore (loss: ₹7.0 crore).
 
“In the wake of Covid-19 our company is trying to perform and deliver to the best of its abilities with everyone working tirelessly, putting in all their efforts, to make sure our company sustains as per promised management expectations,” Vijay Bansal, chairman and managing director at Cantabil Retail India Limited, said in a press release.
 
“As for us out of 325 stores at present 320 stores are operating at the moment. We also anticipate demand to increase and generate better sales in the coming quarters with festivities around the corner. Gradually online sales is also gaining traction and making its way towards contributing to topline,” Bansal added.
 
In order to increase its retail presence, the company will expand ladies brand store network to 200 stores from existing 165 over coming years. Cantabil will also adopt latest technology and best manufacturing practices to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
