Italy’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.2 per cent year on year (YoY) and decreased by 0.3 per cent month on month (MoM) in October this year, according to official statistics.

The YoY rise was 1.6 per cent in September this year.

The index for regulated energy products fell by 0.5 per cent MoM in October from a 13.9-per cent MoM rise in September.

Core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) and inflation excluding energy both stood at 1.9 per cent in the month—down respectively from 2 per cent and 2.1 per cent in September, a release from official statistical agency Istat said.

The YoY growth rate for CPI goods was 0.2 per cent from a 0.6-per cent rise in September.
