Israel-based company, My Size, has received a Notice of Allowance from the Israel Patent Office for its patent application, entitled ‘A System For and a Method of Measuring a Path Length Using a Handheld Electronic Device’. With this latest Notice of Allowance, the company now has six issued/allowed patents and 15 patent applications pending worldwide.

The allowed patent application covers the methods and systems for measuring a body part of a user using a handheld electronic device and addresses the foundational technology that is the basis for the MySizeID measurement app. MySizeID’s proprietary algorithms utilise a smartphone’s sensors combined with anthropometric data to provide customers highly accurate sizing information for specific brands, based on the users exact measurements, according to My Size.

“Building out our intellectual property portfolio is central to our strategy in establishing and sustaining our technology in key global markets. Our proprietary technology enables consumers to measure themselves using their smartphone and then be matched with a brand-specific apparel item in their size. Our goal is to fundamentally transform the apparel business by equipping retailers with MySizeID that can enhance the overall shopping experience for the consumer, while increasing the conversion rate for the retailer,” Ronen Luzon, chief executive officer of My Size said.
