Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods rose by 8 per cent year on year (YoY) to hit VND 4.4 quadrillion in the first ten months this year, accounting for 76.2 per cent of the total retail sales revenue of goods and consumer services.

All key product groups experienced stable growth; retail sales of clothing were up by 8.6 per cent YoY during the period.

Retail activities continued to thrive in major economic centres. Retail sales in Da Nang grew by 9.4 per cent YoY, in Can Tho by 8.7 per cent YoY, in Hanoi by 8 per cent YoY, while in both HCM City and Hai Phong, it increased by 8.3 per cent YoY, domestic media outlets reported.

The rise implied consumer demand remains stable, said the National Statistics Office.

The country’s total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at VND 5.7 quadrillion for the 10-month period—up by 9.3 per cent YoY and higher than the 8.8-per cent YoY growth seen last year.
