CCPI-based headline inflation in Sri Lanka unchanged in Nov 2025

  • The Colombo consumer price index (CCPI)-based headline inflation in Sri Lanka was unchanged at 2.1 per cent in November compared with October.
  • Non-food inflation accelerated to 1.7 per cent in November from 1.4 per cent in October.
  • On a month-on-month basis, the CCPI decreased by 0.23 per cent in November.
  • Meanwhile, core inflation accelerated to 2.4 per cent in November from 2.2 per cent in October.
The Colombo consumer price index (CCPI)-based year-on-year (YoY) headline inflation in Sri Lanka remained unchanged at 2.1 per cent in November this year compared with the previous month.

Non-food inflation accelerated to 1.7 per cent in November from 1.4 per cent in October.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the CCPI decreased by 0.23 per cent in November; the non-food category contributed a 0.05-percentage point drop.

Meanwhile, core inflation accelerated to 2.4 per cent in November from 2.2 per cent in October, a release from the central bank said.

Inflation projections made at the monetary policy round in November 2025 indicate a gradual acceleration of inflation towards the target of 5 per cent in the period ahead and stabilise thereafter.
