French consumer price index (CPI) fell slightly back by 0.2 per cent month on month (MoM) in November this year after a 0.1-per cent MoM rise in October, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).

This fall was, to a lesser extent, due to a 0.1-per cent MoM fall in prices of manufactured products.

Energy prices rebounded by 1.3 per cent MoM in the month after a 0.4-per cent drop in the preceding month.

Seasonally adjusted, consumer prices increased by 0.1 per cent in November after being stable in October.

Year on year (YoY), consumer prices in the country went up by 0.9 per cent in November as they did in October. This stability in inflation is explained on the one hand by the slowdown in services prices and, to a lesser extent, by a sharper fall in those of manufactured products—minus 0.6 per cent after minus 0.5 per cent.

Year on year, core inflation stood at 1 per cent in November after 1.2 per cent in October, an INSEE release said.
