India's CPI inflation rate 2.42% for clothing, 2% for footwear in Aug

The CPI inflation rate for clothing was 2.42 per cent, while the same for footwear was 2 per cent in August this year.

There was an increase of 46 basis points in headline inflation of August 2025 compared to July.

The headline inflation in rural areas was 1.69 per cent in August, while it was 1.18 per cent in July 2025, a release from the ministry said.

The same in urban areas increased from 2.10 per cent in July to 2.47 per cent in August this year.
