The figure is higher than 2.31 per cent, the January WPI rate.
The index for manufactured products increased by 0.42 per cent.
The fuel and power index increased by 2.12 per cent to 153.8 (provisional) in the month from 150.6 (provisional) in January, driven by a 4.28-per cent rise in electricity prices and a 1.87 per cent rise in mineral oil prices.
The month-on-month change in WPI for February stood at 0.06 per cent. The WPI for manufactured products increased by 0.42 per cent to 143.8 (provisional) in February from 143.2 (provisional) in January.
Sectors that saw a month-on-month decrease in WPI in February included leather and related products.
The country’s consumer price index-based (CPI) inflation rate for February was 3.61 per cent, marking the first time in six months that it fell below the central bank’s 4-per cent target.
The index of industrial production (IIP) grew by 5 per cent in January this year from 3.2 per cent in December last year. The growth was driven by robust performances in the manufacturing and mining sectors.
