Inflation in Bangladesh drops to 9.17% in Apr 2025

Bangladesh’s point-to-point inflation rate dropped a bit to 9.17 per cent in April this year from 9.35 per cent in the preceding month due to a March fall in the rate, both in food and non-food items, according to data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

The rate of non-food inflation fell to 9.61 per cent last month from 9.7 per cent in March, domestic media outlets reported.

The rate of inflation climbed to a 13-month high of 11.38 per cent in November last year and started dropping in the subsequent months till March this year. It fell to 10.89 per cent in December, then to 9.94 per cent in January and 9.32 per cent in February.
