Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 3.27 per cent year on year (YoY) between January and October this year, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

In October, CPI increased by 0.2 per cent month on month (MoM) and 3.25 per cent YoY. It increased by 2.82 per cent from the December 2024 figure.

Ten consumer goods and service categories posted monthly price gains during the month. CPI for clothing, hats and footwear rose by 0.18 per cent YoY in the month.

The domestic US dollar price index fell by 0.34 per cent MoM in October, but remained 5.54 per cent higher YoY, the NSO said in a release.

Core inflation in October rose by 0.35 per cent MoM and 3.2 per cent YoY, staying below the overall CPI increase as volatile food and energy items were excluded.
