Adastria Q3 FY20 sales slip to ¥53 bn

Adastria Co Limited, a Japan-based retail company, has reported 3.9 per cent sales decline to ¥53.1 billion (Japanese Yen) in its third quarter (Q3) FY20 that ended on November 30, 2020 compared to the sales of ¥55.2 billion in the same period previous fiscal. However, company’s net income for Q3 rose to ¥3.7 billion (Q3 FY20: ¥2.5 billion).
 
Gross profit for the period was ¥31.6 billion (¥32.5 billion). Selling, general and administrative expenses came down to ¥26.1 billion (¥27.7 billion). Operating profit increased to ¥5.5 billion (¥4.8 billion). Ordinary profit grew to ¥3.7 billion (¥2.5 billion).
 
For the third quarter, Adastria’s domestic e-commerce sales jumped 23.8 per cent to ¥38.9 billion. While overseas business slipped to ¥2.7 billion with sales growth in China of ¥400 million (¥63 million) due to the strong performance of niko and … Shanghai flagship store. Sales in Taiwan rose to ¥690 million (¥632 million) due to new store openings and in-house EC development. Whereas US sales dropped to ¥932 million (¥1.3 billion).
