Dutch inflation slows to 2.9% in July

Inflation in June was 3.1 per cent. The July inflation rate is the same as the flash estimate published on August 1.

Inflation is measured each month as the increase in the consumer price index (CPI) relative to a year earlier.

Prices for consumers rose by 1.3 per cent in July relative to June, a CBS release said.

According to the European harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), consumer goods and services in the country were 2.5 per cent more expensive in July than they were a year earlier. In June, inflation was 2.8 per cent in the HICP calculation. Inflation in the euro area as a whole remained at 2 per cent in July.
