The volume of sales (turnover adjusted for price changes) decreased by 6.1 per cent compared to the same month last year.
Shops selling furniture and home furnishings saw YoY turnover growth in the month, while those selling clothes, footwear and leather products recorded a decrease, CBS said in a release.
Web shops recorded a turnover increase of 4.8 per cent in April. Multi-channel retailers achieved 1.3 per cent higher turnover in online sales.
