The slight rebound in prices of energy in the month was offset by a slightly more marked fall in the prices of manufactured goods than in November and by the slowdown in food prices, which would have stabilised.
Consumer prices increased by 0.2 per cent month on month (MoM) in December 2024 after a 0.1-per cent drop in November. This increase is explained by the rise in prices of services, mainly those of transport, and, to a lesser extent, in prices of energy, especially those of petroleum products.
The prices of manufactured product fell MoM in the month, an INSEE release said.
