Italy's CPI estimated to be up by 0.1% MoM, 0.8% YoY in Feb 2024

Italy’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.1 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 0.8 per cent year on year (YoY) in February this year, according to preliminary estimates by the nation’s statistical agency Istat.

Core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) was 2.4 per cent in the month compared to 2.7 per cent in the previous month, and inflation excluding energy was 2.7 per cent compared to 3 per cent in January this year.

The YoY growth rate for goods inflation was -0.7 per cent (the same as in January) and for Services the annual rate of change was stable at +2.9 per cent. As a consequence, the inflationary gap between Services and Goods remain +3.6 percentage points, an Istat release said.

The rate of change of the country’s harmonised index of consumer prices was 0.1 per cent MoM and 0.9 per cent YoY in February.
