Core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) was 2.1 per cent in the month—up from 1.7 per cent in March, and inflation excluding energy was 2.2 per cent—up from 1.8 per cent in the previous month.
The YoY growth rate for CPI goods was 1 per cent in April this year; the growth rate was 1.5 per cent in March, an Istat release said.
The country’s harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) increased by 0.4 per cent MoM in the month, mainly due to the end of the winter sales of clothing and footwear, and by 2 per cent YoY—down from a 2.1-per cent growth in March.
