This brings the national average inflation rate for this income group between January and July 2025 to 0.5 per cent. In July 2024, the inflation rate for this income group was 5.8 per cent.
Higher annual growth rate was recorded in the index of clothing and footwear in July 2025: 1.5 per cent from 1.3 per cent in June, an official release from the Philippine Statistics Authority said.
Inflation for the bottom 30 per cent income households in the National Capital Region (NCR) slowed down to 1.6 per cent in July 2025 from 2.3 percent in June 2025. In July 2024, inflation in the area was 4.5 per cent.
In areas outside NCR, inflation rate for such households further declined to 1 per cent in July this year from 0.5 per cent in June. In July 2024, inflation rate for this group was 5.9 per cent. Higher annual growth rate was recorded in the index of clothing and footwear during the month in these areas: 1.6 per cent from 1.4 per cent in June.
